Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Masi Agricola is one of the winery’s flagship wines and a benchmark expression of the Amarone style from the Valpolicella Classica area. The blend is based primarily on Corvina, with Rondinella and Molinara, and undergoes the traditional appassimento process, where grapes are dried for several months to concentrate sugars, acidity, and aromas.
After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak, allowing it to develop structure and complexity. The aromatic profile is rich and layered, with notes of ripe cherry and plum, dried fruit, cocoa, tobacco, and sweet spices, evolving toward leather and balsamic nuances with age.
On the palate, it is full-bodied, powerful, and well-structured, with firm yet mature tannins and the characteristic warmth of Amarone. Despite its concentration, it retains a degree of freshness that provides balance.
The finish is long, intense, and persistent, marked by dried fruit and spice. Costasera is widely regarded as a reference Amarone, clearly reflecting the tradition, technique, and terroir of the Valpolicella region, with strong aging potential.
