It is a spreadable liver sausage (Leberwurst) that is typically enjoyed cold, spread on fresh bread. Hausmacher Leberwurst represents the pinnacle of traditional German butchery, crafted in a family-run butcher shop in Glottertal, in the heart of the Black Forest.

This pâté is made from the meat and liver of so-called "Kräuterschweine" – pigs raised on the farm with a natural, herb-rich diet. The recipe has been passed down through generations for over 60 years, ensuring authentic flavor and consistent quality. Leberwurst is robustly seasoned, with a rich and full-bodied taste derived from carefully selected spices like pepper, cardamom, and marjoram. Its texture is smooth and spreadable - perfect for serving on fresh bread or alongside traditional sides such as sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.
