Miocen Natural Mineral Water is a still natural mineral water sourced from a deep artesian aquifer in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. The source is located in the Long Hung area of Dong Thap Province at a depth of approximately 500 meters. The water is held within ancient sedimentary formations dating from the Miocene epoch, after which the product and brand are named. The aquifer is covered by thick clay deposits that isolate it from surface influences and contaminants. The water is bottled without added carbon dioxide and therefore belongs to the still water category. Its pH is approximately 8.3, giving it a naturally alkaline character. The total dissolved solids amount to around 332 milligrams per liter, placing it in the medium-mineral category. Its composition is dominated by approximately 345 milligrams of bicarbonate and 135 milligrams of sodium per liter. It also contains around 6 milligrams of calcium, 3 milligrams of magnesium, 3 milligrams of potassium, and 9 milligrams of sulfate per liter. Its hardness of approximately 28 milligrams per liter places it in the slightly hard water category. Nitrates were not detected in measurable quantities, indicating very limited influence from the surface environment. Its medium mineral content and pronounced bicarbonate and sodium levels give the water a distinctive mineral character, while the absence of carbonation results in a smooth and still texture.
