Gran Ricardo is the flagship wine of Monte Xanic, conceived as a cuvée that showcases the full potential of Baja California. Crafted in a Bordeaux-inspired style, it is typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with the proportion of each variety adjusted according to the character of the vintage.

The grapes come from carefully selected parcels in the Valle de Guadalupe, where the Mediterranean climate, strong day–night temperature variation and granitic, gravelly soils allow for high concentration and natural freshness. Harvesting is done by hand, and grape selection takes place twice - first in the vineyard, then on sorting tables at the winery.

Fermentation is carried out under controlled temperatures to preserve aromatic precision and varietal character. After fermentation, the individual lots of wine mature in French barrique barrels, a significant percentage of which are new, followed by final blending and additional aging in oak.

The flavor profile of Gran Ricardo is deep and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum and blueberry, accompanied by subtle notes of graphite, cedar and dark chocolate. The tannins are firm yet finely matured, providing excellent structure and long aging potential.

On the palate, the wine is full, concentrated and elegant, with a long finish where fruit, minerality and a delicate saline note - typical of the Baja California terroir - interlace.
