Fruit Preserves

Amarene Brusche di Modena IGP from MonteRé is a traditional Italian extra cherry preserve with Protected Geographical Indication status, which confirms its strong link to the Modena area in the Emilia-Romagna region. It is made from carefully selected amarena brusca sour cherries, processed shortly after harvest to preserve their natural tartness and intense fruit character.

The preserve is distinguished by its exceptionally high fruit content and the absence of added thickeners, resulting in a dense, full-bodied texture and a layered flavor profile where sweetness meets a pleasantly sharp, slightly astringent edge. Its color is a deep ruby red, while the aroma is rich and expressive, with clear notes of ripe cherries and subtle hints of caramelization developed during slow cooking.

In gastronomy, it is traditionally enjoyed as a spread, but it is also widely used as a filling for crostatas and other Italian pastries, where its acidity balances richer doughs. It pairs especially well with ice cream, yogurt, and chocolate-based desserts.

Amarene Brusche di Modena IGP is considered one of the symbols of local confectionery heritage, bringing together native fruit, protected origin, and a truly artisanal approach to fruit processing.
