Steirisches Kürbiskernöl g.g.A. is an Austrian pumpkin seed oil produced by Ölmühle Kremsner in Mantrach, in the municipality of Großklein, southern Styria. It carries Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, and its seeds come from Styria’s designated growing area.
It is made using a traditional Styrian piston press, characteristic of local pumpkin seed oil production.
It is distinguished by its dark green colour, thick, velvety texture, and pronounced aroma of roasted nuts. The flavour is harmonious, with a subtle chocolate note and a finish reminiscent of fresh bread crust. It is recommended for salads, raw vegetables, cold meat dishes, dressings, and marinades, as well as desserts and cakes.

Ölmühle Kremsner is an Austrian family-run oil mill in Mantrach, in the municipality of Großklein, southern Styria, known for producing pumpkin seed oil and other vegetable oils. The Kremsner family has operated it since 1956, while the history of the watermill itself dates back to 1628.
At the heart of production is Steirisches Kürbiskernöl g.g.A., Styrian pumpkin seed oil with Protected Geographical Indication status, made by pressing locally grown seeds. The range also includes organic linseed, hemp seed, and sesame oils, as well as walnut oil. Their approach combines traditional craftsmanship with modern equipment and careful attention to raw materials.
Today, Kremsner sells its oils and regional specialties through its mill shop and online store. The business brings together food production, renewable energy use, and the preservation of local heritage.
