Ölmühle Pronnegg is an Austrian family-run oil mill in St. Johann im Saggautal, southern Styria, specializing in pumpkin seed oil. It is run by Sandra and Martin Pronnegg, who took over the former Ölmühle Leopold in August 2022 and continued operating it under their own name.

The mill builds on the family’s long agricultural heritage: their farm was first documented in 1709, and Martin took it over in 2008 as the twelfth generation. Growing oilseed pumpkins and selling pumpkin seed oil directly from the farm have been part of the family business for generations. Acquiring their own mill allowed them to bring the entire production process under their control, from growing the pumpkins to pressing the oil.

At the heart of their range is Steirisches Kürbiskernöl g.g.A., Styrian pumpkin seed oil with protected geographical indication status. Their approach combines farming, traditional craftsmanship, and direct relationships with customers. The mill also welcomes visitors, who can watch pumpkin seeds being processed into oil, learn about the family’s work, and taste their products during guided tours.
