El Anejón is one of the most exclusive wines from Pago de Carraovejas and represents the pinnacle of the winery’s vision in Ribera del Duero. It comes from a single, carefully selected vineyard parcel located at higher altitude, where cooler conditions help preserve freshness and aromatic precision.

The wine is based mainly on Tempranillo, complemented by small proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that add structure and depth. Yields are kept extremely low, allowing for great concentration without losing balance.

In the cellar, El Anejón is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from strict grape selection to gentle, controlled extraction during fermentation. Ageing takes place primarily in French oak barrels chosen to enhance complexity while respecting the natural character of the fruit.

Aromatically, the wine reveals layers of black cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum, followed by notes of cocoa, sweet spices, and subtle floral hints. On the palate, it is powerful yet remarkably elegant, with dense but silky tannins that provide both immediate appeal and long-term ageing potential.

The acidity is well integrated, bringing freshness to a naturally rich style. Oak influence is present but perfectly balanced, adding depth without overshadowing the fruit.

The finish is long and persistent, marked by lingering impressions of fruit, spice, and mineral nuances. With time in the bottle, El Anejón develops complex tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, and earthy tones.

It pairs beautifully with roasted meats, lamb, and refined game dishes. More than just a premium cuvée, El Anejón stands as a benchmark for precision, terroir expression, and long-term vision at Pago de Carraovejas.
