Pegasus Bay is a family-owned winery based in the Waipara Valley on New Zealand’s South Island, founded in 1985 by Jim and Christine Archer with a clear focus on producing wines of depth, balance, and strong terroir expression. The vineyards are planted in a cool-climate setting with significant diurnal temperature variation and clay–gravel soils, allowing for slow ripening and the development of complex aromatics while preserving natural acidity.
