Percebe de Meirás is a seafood delicacy from Percebes Meirás, sourced from the rocky coast of Meirás, between Ferrol and Cedeira, in the Spanish region of Galicia. It is an edible goose barnacle, known locally as percebe, whose harvesting forms part of the area’s maritime tradition.

It is gathered from rocks exposed to powerful Atlantic waves, where it grows naturally attached to the surface. The people behind the brand harvest the barnacles themselves and select them by hand, then sell them directly without intermediaries. They work exclusively with barnacles from their own area, tying the product closely to its local habitat and the harvesters’ expertise.

It is characterized by an intense sea flavor and firm texture, while the producer attributes its plumpness to the conditions along the Meirás coast. Traditionally, it is briefly boiled in salted water, sometimes with bay leaves, and served warm immediately after cooking. The edible flesh lies inside the leathery stalk, whose outer skin is removed before eating. This simple preparation highlights its natural flavor without the need for elaborate sauces or extensive seasoning.
