Rice Scent Aged Puerh is an aged pu-erh tea produced by Plantation and sourced from Menghai in China's Yunnan Province, one of the world's most renowned regions for pu-erh tea production. It is made from Puerh Assamica leaves harvested from approximately 100-year-old tea trees growing at an elevation of around 1,400 meters. The tea is produced from so-called tea fossils (lao cha tou), naturally formed clusters of tea leaves created during the traditional fermentation process of ripe pu-erh tea. After fermentation, these clusters are steamed together with the leaves of the Sweet Rice Leaf plant, native to the Xishuangbanna region, giving the tea its distinctive aroma reminiscent of steamed rice without the addition of rice or artificial flavorings. The infusion has a full yet smooth body with pronounced earthy notes complemented by delicate hints of pandan and steamed rice. Thanks to its softer and more approachable character compared to many ripe pu-erh teas, it is well suited for those discovering this style of tea for the first time.
