Kurutulmuş Portakal Dilimi are dried orange slices produced by Portakal Bahçem in Finike. They are made from oranges grown in orchards managed directly by the producer. The fruits are harvested at an appropriate stage of ripeness to ensure developed sweetness, acidity, and citrus aroma. The oranges are cut crosswise into whole slices with the peel and pulp intact before being dried to remove most of their moisture. Drying concentrates the flavour of the oranges while giving the slices a firmer and slightly chewy texture. The pulp provides a sweet and tart flavour, while the peel contributes mild bitterness and a more pronounced citrus aroma. Their colour ranges from orange to darker brown shades that develop during drying. The slices can be eaten on their own as a dried fruit snack. They can also be used to flavour teas, hot and cold beverages, cakes, and other desserts.
