Pai Abel Tinto is a red wine produced by the Portuguese winery Quinta das Bágeiras in the Bairrada wine region. The wine is made mainly from the indigenous Baga grape variety, often complemented by a small proportion of Touriga Nacional.

The grapes come from vineyards planted on limestone-clay soils typical of Bairrada, which contribute to the wine’s structure and mineral character. Winemaking follows a traditional approach with minimal intervention, including fermentation and aging in used oak barrels before further maturation in large wooden vats.

The wine is typically bottled without heavy filtration in order to preserve its natural character. Aromatically it shows notes of red and dark berries, wild herbs, forest floor, and subtle spicy nuances.

On the palate the wine is structured and intense, with firm but refined tannins and vibrant acidity characteristic of the Baga variety. Despite its power, the wine maintains balance and elegance with a long, persistent finish.

Pai Abel Tinto represents a classic expression of traditional red wines from the Bairrada region.
