Quinta do Vale Meão Douro is a red wine produced in the Douro DOC region, made primarily from traditional Portuguese grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. The grapes come from vineyards planted on the schist soils typical of the Douro Valley, which contribute to the wine’s structure and mineral character.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with part of the grapes often vinified in traditional granite lagares to enhance extraction and complexity. The wine is then aged for several months in French oak barrels, allowing it to develop balance and subtle aromatic depth.
In the glass it displays a deep ruby color with aromas of ripe red and dark fruits, including blackberry and cherry, accompanied by hints of spice and light oak. On the palate it is well structured and fresh, with smooth tannins and balanced acidity.
Quinta do Vale Meão Douro is considered a representative expression of the Douro region, combining fruit intensity with the characteristic elegance and structure of traditional Portuguese red blends.
