Mirabilis Branco is a white wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley produced by the estate Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo. The wine is made from a selection of traditional Douro white grape varieties, typically including Viosinho, Gouveio, Rabigato, and other indigenous grapes sourced from old vineyards planted on the region’s steep schist slopes.
Fermentation takes place partly in French oak barrels, followed by ageing on the lees, which gives the wine additional texture and complexity. Aromatically, Mirabilis Branco shows layers of citrus, white peach, and stone fruit, often accompanied by subtle floral notes, toasted almond, and delicate mineral nuances.
On the palate it is rich yet balanced, with vibrant acidity supporting a creamy texture and concentrated fruit profile. The wine combines depth with freshness, reflecting both the altitude of the vineyards and the mineral character of Douro soils.
The finish is long and elegant, highlighting its structure and ageing potential, making Mirabilis Branco one of the estate’s most distinctive white wines.
