La Muria is one of the most exclusive wines crafted by Raúl Pérez, produced from very old Mencía vines planted on a steep vineyard in the village of Viariz in the Bierzo region. The vineyard sits at high elevation on soils composed of red slate and clay, which give the wine pronounced minerality and a distinctly fresh character compared to more classic expressions of Bierzo.

Yields are extremely low, resulting in concentrated flavors and precise aromatics. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation occurs spontaneously, often with whole clusters, adding structure and complexity to the wine.

Maceration lasts significantly longer than usual - sometimes up to two months - while maintaining minimal intervention during vinification. Aging takes place in used oak barrels to avoid imparting any noticeable wood influence.

The style is defined by restrained elegance, with pure red fruit, delicate herbal notes, and a salty, mineral finish. Tannins are fine and firm, supported by vibrant acidity that gives the wine long aging potential.

La Muria embodies Pérez’s approach to terroir: the wine is not shaped by technique but by patience and a deep understanding of the vineyard.
