Saf Toprak is a Turkish olive oil producer that officially began operating in May 2020. The company was founded by engineer and entrepreneur Murat Ergin in partnership with an associate who was already involved in olive cultivation. It sources olives from different parts of Turkey’s Aegean Region. Most of its products are made from olives grown in the Inner Aegean Region, while certain batches originate in Muğla Province. The company processes several local olive varieties, most notably Trilye, Edremit, and Memecik. Its mountain-grown Memecik oil is produced from olives collected in an old and difficult-to-access grove in Muğla that has gradually become part of the surrounding forest. The range includes oils made from early-harvested, partially ripe, and fully ripe olives, with different products intended for different culinary uses. Olives intended for early-harvest oils are cold-processed within a few hours of picking. Saf Toprak markets its products under the DBD label, while the origin, olive variety, harvest period, and processing method are specified separately for each batch. In addition to olive oil, its range includes table olives and a small selection of other food products.
