Gum Arabic Honey

4.5 ·

Gum Arabic Honey is a natural Omani honey produced by Salalah Honey in the Dhofar Governorate of southern Oman. It is classified as an acacia honey and is obtained when bees forage on the blossoms of the gum arabic tree, Acacia senegal - also known botanically as Senegalia senegal.

The honey is collected from hives located near stands of Acacia senegal, a drought-resistant tree adapted to the arid environment of Oman. Its botanical origin distinguishes it from the better-known sidr, samrah, and frankincense honeys of the Arabian Peninsula. The product consists of natural honey, with its composition, color, and consistency varying slightly according to the flowering season and local environmental conditions.

Gum Arabic Honey is generally characterized by a light golden color, smooth texture, mild sweetness, and delicate floral notes. Its gentle flavor makes it suitable for eating on its own, serving with bread, cheese, yogurt, and dates, or using as a natural sweetener for tea and other beverages.
