The Santorini Vinsanto 12 Years Ageing from Santo Wines is a premium dessert wine that reflects one of the island’s most historic winemaking traditions. Produced from sun-dried grapes, primarily Assyrtiko with a small proportion of Aidani, it follows a passito-style method that concentrates both sugars and acidity.
The wine is aged for at least 12 years in oak barrels, developing remarkable depth and complexity over time. In the glass, it shows a deep amber color with brown reflections.
The nose is rich and layered, offering aromas of honey, dried figs, dates, caramelized orange peel, and sweet spices, with hints of coffee and chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intensely sweet, yet balanced by vibrant acidity that keeps it fresh and structured.
The texture is smooth and viscous, with flavors of dried fruits and spice unfolding gradually. The finish is long and persistent, with evolving complexity.
This wine has excellent aging potential and pairs well with chocolate desserts, nuts, blue cheeses, or can be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine.
