Reserva Encruzado is a white wine produced by Taboadella in Portugal’s Dão wine region, made from the Encruzado grape, one of the most important indigenous white varieties of the area. The grapes come from vineyards planted on granite soils at higher elevations, which contribute to the wine’s pronounced mineral character and freshness.

Encruzado is known for producing complex and structured white wines with good aging potential. During vinification, part of the wine ferments and ages in French oak barrels while the remainder matures in neutral vessels to preserve the varietal purity.

Aromatically, the wine shows notes of citrus, white peach, and ripe pear, accompanied by subtle floral and lightly toasted nuances. On the palate it is elegant and well balanced, with vibrant acidity, refined texture, and a distinct mineral finish.

The structure gives the wine depth and a long, persistent finish, while the style emphasizes the clear expression of the Dão terroir. Reserva Encruzado represents a modern interpretation of this traditional variety, combining freshness, complexity, and potential for further bottle development.
