Shigemasu Tokubetsu Honjōzō is a sake produced by Takahashi Shōten, part of the Shigemasu brand’s year-round range, whose production is rooted in a long tradition of handcrafted kōji preparation.
It is made from Japanese rice and rice kōji, along with water and added distilled alcohol. The rice is polished to 60% of its original grain weight, and the sake contains 15% alcohol. Its nihonshudo (Sake Meter Value) ranges from +4 to +6.
Its character combines a moderate aroma, a soft mouthfeel, and a dry taste. The brewery recommends serving it across a wide range of temperatures - chilled, at room temperature, gently warmed, or hot - without favoring a single serving style.
