Vin Santo di Carmignano Capezzana Riserva from Tenuta di Capezzana is a traditional Tuscan dessert wine made using the appassimento method, where grapes - primarily Trebbiano and Malvasia - are carefully dried for several months to concentrate sugars and aromas. Fermentation is slow and followed by extended ageing in small wooden barrels known as caratelli, often for more than five years without topping up, which gives the wine its characteristic oxidative complexity.

The aromatic profile is rich and layered, with notes of dried apricot, fig, candied citrus peel, honey, caramel and toasted nuts. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with pronounced sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity, preventing heaviness and adding freshness.

A long, warm finish reveals hints of almond and gentle oxidative nuances typical of the Vin Santo style. As a Riserva, it offers additional depth and concentration, reflecting both time and meticulous craftsmanship.

Built for ageing, the wine continues to evolve in bottle, gaining further complexity over the years. It stands as a benchmark expression of Vin Santo from the Carmignano area, combining tradition, structure and elegance.
