Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto is a red wine made from 100% Primitivo, produced by Tenute Chiaromonte in the Gioia del Colle DOC area of Puglia. The grapes come from the single vineyard “Contrada Barbatto”, whose well-drained soils and elevated position contribute to both ripeness and balance.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color and an intense aromatic profile marked by ripe dark cherry, plum, and blackberry, complemented by subtle notes of spice, cocoa, and earthy nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a lively acidity that brings freshness and definition.
The finish is long and expressive, reflecting the warmth and character of southern Italy while maintaining elegance and control. Muro Sant’Angelo Contrada Barbatto is a focused, terroir-driven expression of Primitivo from Gioia del Colle, well suited to pair with grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, and aged cheeses.
