Lux in Tenebris from The Blacksmith’s Meadery is a luxurious melomel that combines the richness of blueberries with delicate notes of white chocolate, creating a refined, dessert-style interpretation of mead. Its name, meaning “light in the darkness” reflects its deep, almost opaque dark-purple color and layered character.

This mead contains around 14% alcohol and is crafted using a cold fermentation process to preserve the natural aromas and texture of the honey. Nearly a kilogram of blueberries is used per liter, resulting in an exceptionally intense and vibrant fruit profile.

The flavor is full and complex - beginning with sweet tones of honey and chocolate, then evolving into lively acidity and soft blueberry tannins that bring balance and structure. The aroma reveals ripe berries, floral honey, and creamy hints of white chocolate.

Its texture is thick and velvety, with a long, warm finish. Best served slightly chilled, it pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, fruit-based desserts, or can be enjoyed on its own as a sophisticated digestif.
