Three Bays Mineral Water is a family-owned Australian mineral water producer based in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula in the state of Victoria. The brand’s story began in 2012 when Olaf and Dayle purchased a property with a natural spring that the previous owner had used for irrigation. Analyses of the water revealed a high mineral content and very low nitrate levels, leading to further research into the source and its composition. The water comes from an ancient aquifer located approximately 900 meters beneath the Mornington Peninsula. According to the producer, the underground aquifer is around 600 million years old, while the water takes at least 2,000 years to pass through the geological layers and reach the surface. In 2015, Olaf and Dayle left their previous jobs and built a small facility on the property to collect and bottle the water. The brand was initially launched under the name Aqui-Live and was renamed Three Bays in 2020. The new name refers to the three bays located above the aquifer area: Port Phillip, Western Port, and Corio. The company produces still and sparkling natural mineral water containing approximately 1,300 milligrams of total dissolved solids per liter. Its composition is particularly rich in chloride, bicarbonate, sodium, magnesium, and calcium, along with several trace minerals. The water is bottled exclusively in glass to preserve its flavor and mineral composition.
