Tomcare is a Vietnamese company based in Ho Chi Minh City that was established in October 2007. Its original activities included the development and distribution of microbial preparations and supplements for aquaculture. In 2016, the company began researching fresh chili processing methods with the aim of increasing the market value of local agricultural produce. A dedicated research and development department was established in 2018, when the Chilica brand was created. The first fermented chili sauces and crushed chili products under the Chilica brand were introduced to the Vietnamese market in June 2020. Its current food range includes fermented chili sauce, crushed chili and a variety containing garlic. Production takes place in a specialized facility covering 10,000 square meters. Selected Vietnamese chili varieties are harvested and processed within 24 hours. The ground chili peppers are mixed with rice vinegar and left to ferment naturally for 12 months without heating the fermenting mixture. According to the company, its products contain no preservatives, artificial colors, flavorings, flavor enhancers or ingredients added to increase their heat. Tomcare exports its products to markets including Australia, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
