Vainas Grandes Vainilla Gourmet

n/a ·

Vainas Grandes Vainilla Gourmet consists of whole Vanilla planifolia beans from the Mexican producer Vainilla Xámác, harvested in Papantla, in the state of Veracruz. This selection is designated Gourmet Grado A, with beans reaching 20 centimeters in length.

The product consists of mature pods of the orchid Vanilla planifolia Andrews, processed using artisanal methods and described by the producer as free from chemical agents. Xámác explains that cultivation requires careful plant and flower selection, along with attentive pollination, while the harvesting and curing stage takes two to four months, depending on the desired quality and intended use.

This selection is distinguished by its large, whole beans, suitable for cakes and other desserts. They can be split lengthwise to scrape out the seeds, while the remaining pods can be used to infuse milk, cream, or sugar.
