Vinaseed is one of Vietnam’s oldest and largest companies specializing in the development and production of agricultural seeds. Its origins date back to 1968 when a state-run rice seed production station was established under the Ministry of Agriculture. The organization was transformed into the National Seed Company in 1978 and became a joint-stock company in 2003. Its operations cover the research, breeding, production, and distribution of rice, corn, vegetable, and other crop seeds. The company develops its own varieties while also cooperating with Vietnamese and international research institutions. It is particularly important in the rice sector where it connects seed development with contract farming, processing, and the sale of finished rice products. Its subsidiary Vinarice operates a modern facility in Đồng Tháp Province which began operating in 2020. This system controls the production chain from seeds and cultivation to harvesting, storage, processing, and packaging. Its food range includes white, aromatic, brown, and colored rice as well as products made from varieties developed by the group itself. Vinaseed operates through approximately 30 branches and subsidiaries located across different agricultural regions of Vietnam. The company maintains its own research centers and a network of approximately 1,200 sales agents.
