Ving Kei, also known as Sopa de Fitas Ving Kei, is a traditional family-owned tofu producer and restaurant in Macau whose history dates back to the early 1960s. It was founded by Lei Kuong Men and Tam Chao, who initially handcrafted fresh tofu and tofu pudding before selling them in the streets around the Inner Harbour district. As demand evolved throughout the year, the family expanded its offering to include noodle dishes and other soy-based products, eventually opening a permanent shop on Rua da Tercena in 1973, where it continues to operate today. The business is now managed by the second generation of the Lei family, who preserve traditional tofu-making techniques passed down over decades. Soy milk is still cooked over an open flame, a method that gives the finished products their characteristic lightly smoky aroma, while some production processes have been modernized to reduce manual labor. In addition to fresh tofu, the company produces tofu pudding, soy milk, fermented tofu, and other soy-based specialties that are also featured in the restaurant's menu. Over the years, Ving Kei has become recognized as one of Macau's best-known producers of traditional tofu products, and its shop is widely recommended as a place to experience authentic local cuisine.
