VOSS is a Norwegian bottled water brand launched by Ole Christian Sandberg and Christopher Harlem in the late 1990s. Voss of Norway was established in 1998, while the brand entered the market in the early 2000s. Despite its name, the water does not originate from Voss Municipality but from the village of Vatnestrøm in Iveland Municipality in southern Norway. It is drawn from an underground source in a sparsely populated area protected from most surface influences. The brand’s visual identity is based on its distinctive cylindrical bottle, designed by American creative director Neil Kraft. The minimalist glass packaging has become one of the brand’s most recognizable features and has contributed to its positioning in the hospitality and restaurant sectors. Its portfolio includes still and sparkling water in glass and plastic bottles as well as a range of beverages with added minerals and electrolytes. The company particularly emphasizes the low level of total dissolved solids and the mild, clean taste of its still water.
