Wuyi Star Tea Jing Dian Lao Wei Dao Da Hong Pao is a premium oolong tea from China’s famed Wuyi Mountains, produced by Wuyi Star Tea, one of the most recognized modern producers specializing in authentic Yancha (rock tea). This tea represents a classic interpretation of Da Hong Pao, one of China’s most iconic oolong styles, traditionally associated with the mineral-rich cliffs of the Wuyishan UNESCO heritage region in Fujian Province.

The name Lao Wei Dao translates roughly to “old traditional taste”, signaling a profile that aims to preserve the deeper, more classic expression of Wuyi rock tea rather than lighter contemporary styles. In the cup, it typically delivers a layered and complex profile with pronounced roasted notes, mineral depth, woody undertones and hints of dried fruit, cocoa and orchid-like florals.

The signature “yan yun” or “rock rhyme” character gives the tea its distinctive lingering minerality and structural depth. As a heavily craftsmanship-driven oolong, its character depends strongly on cultivar selection, oxidation and charcoal roasting technique.
