Yuen Chun is one of Malaysia’s oldest producers of traditional sauces and fermented pastes. The company was founded by Lee Nam in 1910 as a sundry provisions store onishe Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, where he began brewing soy sauce according to a special recipe from his hometown in China. The brand is now managed by the fourth generation of the Lee family, while the name Yuen Chun translates as “Original & Special."
