Lindemans Oude Gueuze Cuvée René is a traditional Belgian oude gueuze produced by Brouwerij Lindemans. It is made from a carefully balanced blend of one, two, and three-year-old lambics. These spontaneously fermented beers mature in large oak barrels known as foeders. The younger lambic contains active yeast and residual sugars that initiate natural secondary fermentation after the blend is bottled. The beer is packaged in champagne-style bottles capable of withstanding the pressure created during this process. Secondary fermentation produces its natural carbonation, fine head, and the complex character associated with traditional gueuze. The beer has a clear golden-amber color and an alcohol content of six percent. Its aroma combines notes of dry sherry, ripe apple, and matured lambic. The flavor profile includes green apple, citrus, pronounced acidity, and a crisp, dry finish. This gueuze has been produced since the early 20th century and has carried the Cuvée René name since 1994. It was named in honor of René Lindemans, a fifth-generation member of the family behind the brewery. Unlike the company’s sweetened and fruit-based beers, Oude Gueuze Cuvée René is defined by traditional blending, oak maturation, and secondary fermentation in the bottle.
