Mantega Cadí DOP is a traditional Spanish butter produced by Cadí Cooperative from pasteurized cream obtained exclusively from cow's milk collected in the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions of the Catalan Pyrenees. It is one of the few butters in Europe protected by a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), reflecting its close connection to its geographical origin and traditional production methods. The cream undergoes a slow maturation with selected lactic cultures before churning, giving the butter its characteristic aromatic profile. It is distinguished by a smooth, creamy, and highly spreadable texture, a bright yellow color that varies naturally with the seasons, and a rich flavor with fresh cream notes, delicate acidity, and subtle hints of hazelnut. Mantega Cadí DOP is suitable for everyday use as a table butter and is equally valued in baking, pastry making, and a wide range of savory dishes where its rich flavor and creamy texture can be fully appreciated.
