Castañas en Almíbar are chestnuts preserved in syrup by De lo Nuestro Artesano in Carracedelo, in Spain’s El Bierzo region. The product is part of a range of traditional preserves sold under the S.A.T. El Artesano Raúl Valcarce brand. It is made with Castaña del Bierzo chestnuts, which carry a quality designation identifying their origin in the region.
