Teran Il Primo is a premium red wine produced by the Fakin winery in Istria, made from 100% Teran grapes sourced from the “Flaminio” vineyard site near Motovun, where some vines date back to 1972. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected before fermentation with extended maceration in order to extract structure, color and aromatic intensity.

After fermentation, the wine matures for about 24 months in oak barrels, which contributes to its depth and aging potential. It displays a deep ruby color and a complex aromatic profile dominated by dark fruit notes such as sour cherry, blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by hints of violet, spice and subtle smoky nuances.

On the palate the wine is full-bodied and structured, with pronounced freshness typical of the Teran variety and firm yet well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent, highlighting both the fruit character and the influence of oak aging.

Teran Il Primo is often regarded as one of the notable modern interpretations of Teran from Istria, reflecting both the variety’s natural acidity and the character of the Motovun terroir.
