Brunello di Montalcino from Fornacina is a classically styled expression made exclusively from 100% Sangiovese grosso grown in the estate’s organically farmed vineyards around Montalcino. The vines are located at around 400 meters above sea level, where cooler temperatures and well-exposed slopes contribute to slow, balanced ripening and aromatic precision.
Fermentation is carried out with a restrained, traditional approach, followed by extended aging in large oak casks, allowing the wine to evolve gradually without masking the character of the grape or terroir. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color that develops garnet tones with age.
Aromatically, it offers layers of ripe red cherry, dried herbs, tobacco, and subtle earthy notes, supported by hints of spice and balsamic freshness. On the palate, the wine is structured and focused, with firm but polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory finish that reflects the classic profile of Montalcino.
The style favors balance and longevity over power, making it a Brunello built for aging rather than immediate impact. It pairs particularly well with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, and rewards patience in the cellar.
