Villa Magra Grand Cru is a premium extra virgin olive oil that represents the most prestigious selection from the Villa Magra groves in Tuscany. It is produced from 100% Frantoio Correggiolo olives, hand-harvested in October from groves located at altitudes between 350 and 450 meters near Montenero d’Orcia.
This oil is monovarietal, meaning it comes exclusively from a single olive variety, highlighting the authenticity and distinctive characteristics of that cultivar. It is recommended for use in raw dishes such as salads with bitter greens, roasted or grilled vegetables, as well as in dishes with strong flavors where it can add depth and complexity. It represents a true gastronomic experience, combining tradition, quality, and innovation in every drop. Its color is yellowish-green with warm golden reflections, and the texture is medium-bodied with a fine oil consistency, enhancing the visual and sensory appeal on the plate.
These qualities make it ideal for fresh dishes and delicately balanced culinary creations.
Producer
Frantoio Franci is a prestigious Italian producer of extra virgin olive oil, founded in Montenero d’Orcia, on the slopes of Mount Amiata in Tuscany. The Franci family purchased the Villa Magra olive grove and transformed an old barn into a mill, where they still produce some of the most highly regarded oils in Italy. They are known for their dedication to quality and traditional production, combining hand-picked olives with modern cold-pressing methods, preserving the aromas and nutritional values of the oil.
Their production covers 65 hectares of olive groves, cultivating various varieties. Each variety contributes specific characteristics to the oil, ranging from fruity and grassy notes to mild bitterness and spiciness.
