Dez Tostões Grande Reserva is a premium red wine produced by Herdade da Maroteira in Portugal’s Alentejo region, crafted from carefully selected grapes grown on vineyards located on the slopes of the Serra d’Ossa mountains. The wine typically combines traditional Portuguese varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional, which thrive in the warm climate and clay-limestone soils of the area.
Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with careful extraction in order to preserve both concentration and balance. The wine then undergoes extended aging in French oak barrels, followed by additional bottle maturation, allowing its structure and complexity to fully develop.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby color and an aromatic profile marked by ripe black fruits, dark cherry and plum, accompanied by notes of spice, cocoa and subtle toasted wood. On the palate it is rich and structured, with firm tannins, good acidity and a layered texture that gives the wine depth and persistence.
The style reflects the power typical of Alentejo wines while maintaining elegance and balance. Dez Tostões Grande Reserva pairs particularly well with roasted meats, game dishes and mature cheeses, and it also has good aging potential.
