January Spirits Genepy is a limited annual-release herbal liqueur inspired by the traditional génépi spirits of the French and Italian Alps. Produced in Greenport, New York, it is crafted using génépi sourced from small independent farmers in the Hautes-Alpes region of France and combines a total of 27 botanicals, including sweet annie, lemon balm, lemon verbena, feverfew, blessed thistle, red clover, hops, and New York State honey.

After maceration and redistillation, the liqueur is lightly sweetened and matured for approximately three months in Sauternes wine barrels, adding additional depth and complexity. Bottled at 50% ABV, it offers an intensely aromatic profile with notes of alpine herbs, wormwood, honey, citrus, spice, and delicate floral undertones.

The palate balances herbal bitterness with subtle sweetness, revealing flavors of lemon verbena, honey, mace, and fresh mountain herbs before a long, warming finish. Produced only once each year, January Spirits Genepy pays tribute to one of the Alps’ most distinctive botanical traditions while expressing the brand’s modern American approach to classic European liqueurs.
