La Maja Koroneiki is an extra virgin olive oil made exclusively from the Koroneiki variety, originally from Greece but cultivated at the Agrícola La Maja estate in Mendavia, Navarra, Spain. This label is part of their limited edition series (Edición Limitada) and is produced in small quantities, aiming to showcase the authentic character of each harvest and highlight the unique traits of each variety. The oil is characterized by sweet fruity notes, with hints of red berries, kiwi, and banana, along with subtle nuances of tomato and herbs.
On the palate, it opens with a pleasant sweetness, followed by mild bitterness and a gentle spiciness in the finish. This complex yet balanced profile makes it an excellent choice for salads, raw dishes, seafood, and light dressings. It has a very low acidity (around 0.1%), which reflects its high quality.
The oil is obtained through cold pressing immediately after harvest and stored under controlled conditions to preserve its freshness, polyphenols, and nutritional value.
