ECOBA Organic Jasmine Rice is an organic white jasmine rice produced by the Vietnamese company Lotus Rice. It is grown in the Mekong Delta as part of an organic farming program launched in 2016. The name ECOBA is derived from the term ecological balance and reflects the approach used to manage the cultivation areas. Some fields follow a rice–shrimp rotation system. Rice is cultivated from August to December while the land is used for shrimp farming during the remainder of the year which allows soil nutrients to regenerate naturally. No synthetic pesticides or genetically modified seeds are used during cultivation. Production complies with American, European, and Japanese organic farming standards. The uncooked grains are bright, clean, and approximately 6.7 millimeters long on average. After cooking, the rice develops a soft, slightly sticky texture and the distinctive floral fragrance associated with jasmine rice. The grains are thoroughly milled, double polished, and optically sorted to ensure uniformity.
