Magnolia Lab Roselle is an oriental botanical liqueur produced in Hong Kong, inspired by traditional Chinese herbal infusions and contemporary mixology. Bottled at 19% ABV, it is built around roselle (hibiscus), whose bright natural acidity forms the foundation of its flavour profile. The recipe also incorporates jujube, Chinese angelica root (dong quai), and dried ginger, creating a balanced combination of fruity sweetness, herbal complexity, earthy undertones, and gentle warming spice. Developed by Magnolia Lab's founders, the liqueur reinterprets ingredients commonly associated with traditional Chinese herbal preparations in a modern gastronomic context. It opens with vibrant tart notes of roselle, followed by the mellow sweetness of jujube and layered herbal aromas, finishing with lingering notes of ginger and Chinese angelica. The liqueur can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or mixed with soda, while its bittersweet and aromatic profile also makes it suitable for cocktails inspired by aperitif-style drinks.
