Vigna Barbagalli Etna Rosso is the flagship wine of Pietradolce, produced exclusively from Nerello Mascalese grown in the single-vineyard Barbagalli, located in the Rampante contrada on the northern slopes of Mount Etna at around 900 meters above sea level. The vines are exceptionally old, some over 100 years, trained in the traditional alberello system on highly volcanic, lava-rich soils.

Fermentation includes extended maceration, followed by around 20 months of aging in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop depth and complexity while preserving freshness. Aromatically, it offers layers of red cherry, wild berries and pomegranate, complemented by notes of spice, ash, dried herbs and subtle balsamic tones.

On the palate, the wine is precise and mineral-driven, with vibrant acidity, finely textured tannins and a long, elegant finish. Vigna Barbagalli has remarkable aging potential and is widely regarded as one of the most refined and expressive single-vineyard wines of Etna, capturing the balance between volcanic power and finesse that defines Nerello Mascalese at its best.
