Mắm Tôm Đặc Biệt Tác Huy is a traditional Vietnamese fermented paste made from very small marine shrimp and produced by the Tác Huy family business. It originates from the Do Xuyên–Ba Làng area of Thanh Hóa Province which is known for processing fish and seafood through salting and fermentation. According to the label, it contains fresh small shrimp and purified salt. The shrimp are mixed with salt and left to ferment until their tissues gradually break down and form a thick paste. This process develops an intense aroma, pronounced saltiness, and an umami-rich flavor. The product has a dark grayish-purple to brown color typical of this type of fermented paste. Before serving, it can be mixed with lime or lemon juice, sugar, and chili to balance its saltiness and intensity. It is commonly served as a dipping sauce with boiled meat, tofu, vegetables, and various traditional Vietnamese dishes. It can also be used as a seasoning base for dishes prepared with minced meat.
