The Artisan Kitchen’s Early Rivers Prolific Plum Jam is a limited seasonal preserve handmade in small batches in Gloucester, England, using Gloucestershire-grown Rivers Early Prolific plums.
This historic early-season plum variety produces beautifully juicy fruit with a bright, generous flavour and a naturally sweet-sharp character. The jam has a deep plum colour, rich fruit intensity and a soft natural set, allowing the distinctive character of this heritage fruit to remain at the heart of every jar.
Its award history includes 3 Stars at the Great Taste Awards in 2025 and 2 Stars in 2026. It was also named Taste of the West Champion Preserve in 2018, following Gold awards at Taste of the West in 2015, 2018 and 2019.
Created by chef and preserve maker Sarah Churchill, founder of The Artisan Kitchen, it reflects a long-standing commitment to preserving unusual, seasonal and heritage British fruit.
Delicious on hot buttered toast, scones and croissants, it also pairs beautifully with cheese, roast duck and rich savoury dishes, and works wonderfully in cakes, tarts and desserts.
