Dangerously Close to Stupid is a Double IPA from To Øl, conceived as a hop-forward showcase dominated by Citra and Centennial. The recipe relies on a clean malt base without caramel malts, allowing the hops to take full focus.

Its color is orange-amber, often slightly hazy, with a stable head and lively carbonation. The aroma presents intense citrus notes of grapefruit and orange, followed by tropical fruit, resinous tones and subtle pine.

The flavor delivers an immediate hop punch, yet the finish remains surprisingly balanced, with a firm bitterness that never becomes harsh. At around 9% ABV, the beer has warmth and fullness, while still retaining good drinkability thanks to the minimalist malt structure.

As typical for To Øl, the label plays with the concept of “dangerously close to stupid” amounts of hops, but the execution shows technical precision rather than chaos.
