Tomh Mantinia PDO Moschofilero

4.4 ·

Tomh Mantinia PDO Moschofilero is the flagship wine of Troupis Winery and the winery’s principal expression of Moschofilero. Produced in Fteri, at the heart of the Mantinia plateau, it carries the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Mantinia, reflecting both the geographical identity of the region and the traditional connection between Mantinia and Moschofilero.

The wine is made from 100% Moschofilero grown in the Troupis family’s privately owned vineyards, cultivated with naturally low yields to concentrate the character and potential of the grapes. Modern white-winemaking techniques are used to preserve the variety’s freshness and aromatic intensity while expressing the distinctive character of the high altitude Mantinia terroir.

Tomh has a bright yellow color with delicate pink tinges, characteristic of Moschofilero. Its aromatic profile combines white peach, citron and quince, leading to a fresh, slightly acidic yet full and balanced palate, with a long, expressive aftertaste of bergamot and jasmine. Tomh is best enjoyed chilled and pairs naturally with a wide range of Mediterranean cuisine, seafood, poultry and lighter dishes.

As the flagship and PDO wine of Troupis Winery, Tomh represents the family’s long standing commitment to showcasing the full potential of Moschofilero. It is part of the winery’s international portfolio and continues to serve as a reference point for the family's vision of presenting Mantinia and its indigenous variety to wine lovers in Greece and abroad.

Troupis Winery is a family-owned boutique winery in Fteri, at the heart of the Mantinia plateau in Greece, where vineyards sit at around 700 meters above sea level. For more than 15 years, the family has been at the forefront of Moschofilero, becoming the first and only winery in the region to explore the variety so extensively and push its potential to the limits.

Rather than being defined by its traditional light and aromatic style, Troupis Winery has shown that Moschofilero can be remarkably versatile, complex and age-worthy. Through pioneering work in the vineyard and cellar, including different clones and rootstocks, micro-vinifications and alternative winemaking vessels, the family has created an unusually broad range of expressions, exploring different colors, textures and styles while preserving the character of the variety and its high-altitude terroir.

Today, Troupis wines are recognized through international awards and critical acclaim including Jancis Robinson, Robert Parker – Wine Advocate, Decanter, The Great Greek Wines, while the winery remains deeply rooted in Fteri, where visitors can meet the family, explore the vineyards and discover the many faces of Moschofilero at its source.
